Every Ryan & O’Donnell shoe includes NOENE, our shock dispersion insole. NOENE is the ultimate shock absorption and dispersant system, absorbing about 98% of the shock which in turn helps to relieve and rule out back pain, tendinitis and repetitive strain injuries. NOENE is exclusive to Ryan & O’Donnell dance shoes.
Our advanced mould technology means no unsightly screws, unsurpassed sound definition and feather light shoes that are extremely durable. We have ergonomically designed the shoes to ensure the side stitching is closer to the heel to prevent it coming away. We also care about your feet which is why our hard shoes include a small shank to ensure the support around your arch.
The shoe’s lining is finished with virtually no seams. It is this construction of the shoe that results in a flexible architecture that underlines the hides’ natural qualities of softness and resistance. This is the secret of a fit that supports and welcomes the foot step after step.
Leather v Suede
Leather is made from the top layer of the skin, while suede is made from the inside layer. Suede in general is not as durable as leather but is finer in appearance and softer as it does not include the tough exterior skin layer. Therefore our leather sole unit will be more durable but not as soft and fine as the suede shoes which will also give the most flexibility.
We have managed to develop our tan leather sole to give the same support as other tan leather shoes but we have used a very specialised flexible Italian leather and a special technique. So even in our tan leather versions, we will have minimum to no breaking in period. The leather tan version will also offer a little more support due to being slightly thicker and harder wearing then suede. In short, the benefits will really depend upon the dancer.
Everyone is different and has a different way of dancing, some are heavier on point and others on not so.
